With the 2008 Formula 1 season set to begin on March 16th, Ferrari has revealed photos and information on its newest F1 machine the F2008. The biggest change is the shift to the new SECU computer or Standard Electronic Control Unit which is now mandatory for all teams and the removal of traction control. Kirk Ho Hing, past president of C.A.R.S. and avid solodexer has embarked on his journey into US SCCA competition! Kirk competes in his first meet as a novice, as required by the US rules having never been in competition there before. Kirk is driving a standard US-spec left hand drive Ford Focus 2.0-litre front wheel drive car. He will be up against the run-what-ya-brung US novice class which includes anthing from Lotus Elises, Corvettes and MR2's to Honda S2000s, Civics and Integras.

The T&T governing body for motorsport has lost its high court appeal to keep Wallerfield open for motor racing events. The intent of the appeal was to have the land owners, eTeck, keep Wallerfield open for racing until another motorsport facility can be built. However eTeck has suceeded in evicting TTASA and now the race tracks are no longer available to anyone. Talks with the Ministry of Sport seem to be getting nowhere and TTASA has now prepared an injuction against the court decision in favour of eTeck. Story Updated>> Discuss and Vote.

In what could be called the biggest marketing event of the year, SOL Petroleum and Shell flew in two Ferrari F1 cars complete with test driver Marc Gene and pit crew of fourteen members. The cars arrived to prove that Ferrari's Formula 1 cars could run on the newly developed Shell V-Power fuel. It was totally proven as the 900hp Ferrari flew around the highway road course from the Shell Warrens Gas Station to Automotive Art, decimating a typically 20 minute trip by lapping in just under 2 minutes and touching 270mph in 7th gear! The Cayman is the brash, no-excuses member of the Porsche family. Essentially, the 2-seater is a hardtop version of the Porsche Boxter but the driving experience is said to be vastly different. The name is inspired by the "caiman", a reptile closely related to the alligator.
