Red Bull teams up with Jamaica Karting Club for an exhibition event on the streets of Kingston!

At this point it was time for a break and some pure Jamaican fun. Two popular Jamaican announcers came on board for a few minutes to give the crowd some comedy. By now my skills at Jamaican interpretation were decently sharp so that I too could join in. Eventually after talking about societal norms and poking fun at a few politicians they turned everyone's attention to the skies as the Red Bull Air Force athletes jumped out of a helicopter at 5000 feet and arobatically made their descent, around and through the cityscape and onto the main straightaway, allowing them to walk through the Red Bull arches as they landed! Now that takes serious skill– to the tune of 10,000 skydives and being holders of national and international titles.

Next up were the crazy stunt bikers who really had the crowd's attention as they performed burnouts, wheelies, stoppies and standing, sitting and lying down tricks with the bikes in motion. They even picked up on of the Jamaican comedians for a thrill ride that left him chattering on the mike and thanking his lucky stars. All this excitement gave the karters enough time to final check and make any last minute adjustments to their karts as the real races were about to begin! (Article continues on page 11).
