Hello to all, my name is Aaron, but everyone calls me Bez and this is the story of my RX-2 RE Sedan project.

I bought this Orange/Multi color RX-2 from a guy in Grande

It has a cut fire wall, but came with lots of spare parts (lights and grills) and best of all, great condition fenders, trunk and bonnet/hood.

After stripping it I realised that I wanted another shell to get the parts I needed

After digging throught the filler the signs of a bad accident reared it head

SO

I went in search of a donor car, and went back to check a guy that has a few RX-2's,3,5's and 7 for one of his RX-2 RE's. and found this white one

this is the new car for the project..

So I got the new white car home and starting repeating the same process, scrapping and stripping the car down to nothing..

engine bay

put on some lights and a spare grill I had to see how it looks

interior

and the stripping begins

test fitted all the chrome

Stripped the engine bay

removed the doors and all wiring

and the rust starts to show it's ugly head, so i hit it with the wire brush and dremel

removed the fenders (which was NOT easy, they were welded on and plastered with 1/4" of filler.

here are the new fenders i'll be using from the orange shell

Nasty surface rust and worse attempt at patching some rust previously

Dog sitting watch

atleast this side looks better

and that's it for what I have done so far, next is off to the sandblasters and then to the patch/panel man.
