The old diff knock noise, cause by the mount for the diff breaking damaged the rear subframe, not to the point where the car could not be driven but beyond the point of repairing the mount. The rear subframe has been swapped out for another foreign used one (same stock 2G RX7) from our current mechanics at Samara's Auto. Hopefully the extra welding and chaining will keep it from breaking/knocking again.

Our previous mechanic Gillmore, recommended changing the gearbox. The first used one we got has no reverse, and the lever is "in the soup bowl" so gears are iffy. The second gearbox we got from Jerry Abdul, is unable to select 3rd and 4th. bear in mind these are used boxes so we really are taking chances. Fas Parts (Jerry) has new short-ratio gearsets that can be swapped into the old gearbox units. We will be sticking with the stock gearbox and I'll be checking Oswald Stoute next to see if he has a good one.

A gearbox was installed from Jerry Abdul, we had to weld the mounts to make it work (series 4 vs 5). Lasted a few months, we're hearing strange noises from it. The rear subframe from Oswald Stoute came with a working diff. That seems to be making some noise as well but it could be all gearbox we are not sure. We installed used rear shocks from Oswald Stoute, car's handling is now back. I busted the old ones carrying too many magazines from the printers. We managed a 2nd place at AutoSport Drag and Winding while everything was working well except the gear shifter. It kept sticking in 2nd gear. The lever and cup mechanism needs rebuilding or replacing.

Since then I've bought brand new D2 coilovers and Energy Suspension Bushings to be installed. We are looking for a fresh gearbox and I'm contemplating a new 1.5-way diff, for now I'll just swap in another working used one.

The engine was road tuned by Ram Beharry with all the ignition settings turned down and we got 207whp on the dyno. When we get he diff/gearbox sorted we'll go back and tune for the 240whp. We are also now using Vavoline Racing Oil which is holding up very well to the rotary heat factory.
