so cud not get the helicoil kit to work with engine in situ (ongoing exhaust manifold drama), so decided to pull engine out Kamikaze lend me his SMALL block and tackle, which look like it cud lift meh whole house......anyways, garage roof was not high enuff to lift engine clear of car, so had to get some elbow grease to lift.............here's where it gets interesting.........I made sure to disconnect clutch cable from clutch fork, but forgot the cable passes THRU the sump .............so...........manpower lift engine while we roll the car back, and..........cable snag......in th e20 sec it took to free the cable, engine come down SLIGHTLY on nose and leave about five lil dents hope they cud tap out from behine......Richieeeeeeeeee.................

so now with engine out, new plan is:
degrease engine and do general detail
repaint engine block
remove oil filter housing and disconnect filter bypass valve (design flaw in engine)
remove front suspension and crossmember, and powder-coat and re-bush everything
replace springs and dampers
strip and repaint engine bay
check Republic Bank for loan

boi Yeo, you ent even have to ask, you don make de shortlist long time..............I guarantee I gonna make rel enemies when she back up cuz not jus anybody is allowed to ride......nothing personal to ppl out there, but the car has a few finicky points which Average Joe-Gladman tends to overlook, such as the fragile glassfibre runningboard just below the door......ppl forget its there and step on it when they get out the car.......I rel fussy with the seats too cuz with 25 years, the fabric is pretty weak, especially around the seat control pads, as well as the side bolsters so u gotta be careful when getting in....cannot jus jump in clumsily......the seats are pretty much irreplacible and well u know the story with the body panels.

Today I sent off a quote to the club on suspension bushes, dampers and front springs.......my bank account is holding its breath!

so.........seems I can't get suspension bushes out of the UK.........they near impossible to source and if the club finds any, they need to send them to the polybush company so they can make some poly-versions......so it seems I won't be powder coating anything cuz I am not gonna mess with the front end until I can be guaranteed to get bushes.....so maybe just a clean-up and repaint.............and then car is off to the bodyshop

note heat damage from exhaust, plus engine mount had been squished by almost 3/4 inch over the last 8 years, so exhaust was occasionally rubbing on bodywork

But that's not so bad, when you take into account how old the car is.

sweet ride man Smile Smile
I got a buddy in Ft Lauderdale with one.....basically he trades in as soon as a new model comes out

at a glance the 66 Stang looks ok, but once u begin to loo at it u see the crap the bodyman did to it.....and he hid rel crap with filler. We supplied brand new floor pans and he cut them up to make floor patches! He also lost several bits of trim. Basically the car now has to go for a bodyjob Sad and he did not brace the tob when he replaced the sills either. The plan is to get teh car up on a chassis alignment machine and see if its off in any dimension, and start by rectifying that issue $$$$$$$ It really getting frustrating to have cars like these in this country......I reach the point where I have my cars sitting in the garage with work waiting to be done cuz I don't kow where to go......right now I am doing as much as I can on my own, but its slow work cuz I have to invest in tools as well. Right now I am contemplating buying an engine crane and engine stand. I have some ratchet wrenches on order, and I need to make some wheel ramps....and the list goes on and on.......and all this while I am trying to find a house or land, cuz I rent in Curepe and the cars are in Princes Town...........stressss
