Would like to make it, but I would have to break in the engine first, and I won't finish the drive-shaft until late this week... and as the headers need to be realigned, she will have to be satisfied with the original "T" manifold.

Looks like I will need to get a lot of milk and bananas if I want to make the 29th... to offer to and placate the jumbie that haunts the garage.

This is where she has reached:

I still haven't got around to re-shaping the headers (RS 2000 type) to fit, so the original manifold is still in place. Re-wiring the car is being done when I can, so the harness is exposed Embarassed ... a little silly-looking, but it is secured (I know that is no excuse Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed )
My other vehicle went on strike (jealous of the attention the Viva was getting, no doubt) so the Vauxhall became the daily driver.
All I can say is that the torque of the stock 2 litre is wild... and a bit addictive. The end result is that I now have to replace ALL the bushings on the rear suspension. Sad Twisted Evil

The body really needs attention, so as soon as I get the Sportage back on the road, I will give the old girl her long-awaited "do-over".

Well, this is what I'm running now:

Meanwhile the Viva will be getting a clean-up. (I need to start that soon!)

This is what the cortie has under the bonnet:

She is in almost excellent condition, and drives like a dream. (Her transmission died - sat down too long in storage, it seems - so we bolted a Sierra 5-speed to the 2000cc Pinto... and God, can it run.)

Her performance just highlights the performance difference between the use of the standard T-type exhaust manifold and headers. I still have to get around to modifying the set of RS 2000 headers to fit inside the Viva's engine bay - need to!!!
