Shameel Shamo Mohammed The Sheriff of Drag Racing started Pro Drag Racing in 1989 and has been very sucessful over the last 16 years. The Sheriff copped some 21 first place finishes and 6 second place finishes and earned 4 Championship Driver of the year awards. Shamo started off in the 12 secs bracket and gradually moved to the 10 secs bracket winning outright on many occasions. He was notorious for challenging open class cars for grudge runs from time to time. He has raced in Grenada a few times and dominated the competition there as well.

His faithful Sheriff Lobo Drag Racing Kingswood V8 enjoyed extreme levels of popularity right up to the year 2000 and is still well respected in local Drag Racing circles. This machine is a complete chassis engineering kit built within a Kingswood body and powered by a V8 engine. "There is no replacement for displacement V8 all the way!" has been the Sheriff's motto. With more power being added over the years along with a Nitrous Oxide System, his best performance is 10.2 secs @ 140 mph. With more and more power being found the latest challenge has been lobbying for better track facilities in Trinidad & Tobago.

Currently, Shamo is focusing on Karting. He is one of the first Drag Racers to get into Karting and has already copped a few first place finishes in the 125 cc Shifter Class. Being true to his Drag Racing roots, Shamo took his shifter Kart to Wallerfield and raced against two street cars, laying down the law at a best of 14.9 secs. fully overturning the "no replacement for displacement" motto. He recently acquired a new Kart for the 125 cc Rotax Max Class. Once he gets used to it, we fully expect to see Shamo once again on the Karting podium.
