Floor plan

overall floor space is 35.5' (not counting side step) x 60'

the partitins between living room, dining and TV rooms are not solid walls....we want a feeling of open space, but also want clearly defined spaces.....the plan is to use glass display cases and arches as partitions
and yes, the kitchen and porch are huge....we plan to be in those areas most of the time.....which is why unlike most designs, the master bedroom is only 12 x 14
The porch is 15' deep......

Looking good man. Congrats on finally breaking ground. As for the garage, consider using one of the overhead beams to permanently mount a block and tackle to make yanking an engine easy. Also, why not make a pit, like the ones that does be by licensing and inspection? Cheaper than a lift and with your cars, it will save you a lot of time crawling under jack stands. It can always be covered by a steel grate when not in use. And when it rain, it could double as a lap pool. Try selling that to the wifey.

thanks guys
Jahling, I bought an engine hoist, so I don't need the B&T anymore.......plus Karen done gone and install hammock hooks in the beams Swing

Actually the final garage plan is to make a covered driveway / garage down the side of the house so the cars can park down one side, with the workshop to the back.....I thought about the pit, but maybe for the future.....

from kitchen, looking into TV room (left) and living / dinning room (right)

living room window

looking out of TV room window......yes, it is a huge 8-foot wide window
