Team Redline @ Jenny's POS 2002!

Welcome to our remastered series of Zorce content! We hope you enjoy these blasts from the past with higher resolution, colour re-edited and remastered photographic galleries! In this instance we travel back in time to 2002, for a closer look at the Team Redline Auto Show, held at Jenny's on the Boulevard in Port-of-Spain Trinidad. You'll see a few familiar faces, fashions, trends and automotive styles... it was definitely a different time but one that continued to inspire the custom scene in T&T!

Dennis Gage discovers T&T!

Thanks to the persistent efforts of Clifford Tardieu, founder and promoter of the annual Grand Auto Show, Trinidad and Tobago had the pleasure of a true classic car celebrity visit. After rounds of emails, a visit to the SEMA Show in 2016 and a fair amount of Tardieu’s stalking talking and negotiation, Dennis Gage himself confirmed via video the widespread rumours that he was coming to T&T, and more specifically to the Grand Auto Show on April 30, 2017! For the days leading up to the main event, which would be featured on his world famous TV show, My Classic Car, we had the pleasure of meeting up with Dennis and his camera crew as they explored T&T.

Biche Auto Fest 2015

Although the Biche Auto Fest was scheduled for a 3pm start we figured, we’d give it a few hours because of the concept of island time. After making a few background check calls we learned that this Saturday evening show was but the second of its kind, to be held annually. Not having been to Biche since my childhood days, like three local musketeers we packed the camera and some magazines for sale, then piled in to a bone-stock automatic Suzuki Swift 1.5 ‘incognito-mobile’ and set off on our adventure. My mother smiled as we left, happy to know we were heading to her original home.

Sailun RaceTrac Car Show Trinity College 2012

Now in its second consecutive year, the Car Craft and Chop Shop-organised Sailun Tires/RaceTrac Wheels Trinity College Car Show in Trincity enjoyed an even stronger competitor turnout. Just in time for school holidays, this show kept the cars organised in genres including stance and performance cars, restorations, customised and special paint cars and the audio competitors.

Andy's Wheels Presents: Car Craft Carshow and Sound off 2010

Car Craft CivicThe Car Craft tradition of automotive innovation continued last Sunday at the infamous Kay Donna Drive-Inn Cinema. This time around Roger Perreira teamed up with Andy's Wheels to bring the some of the hottest customs in the island to one place. Gone are the days when just adding lights. rims and tint were cool enough. Even though many street car owners are quite happy with more subtle creations, this show was anything but. Lamborghini doors, strobes, transformer fenders, bonnets and trunks and screens any and everywhere were built into cars painted in candy, pearl and airbrushed colours. And of course there was car audio abound. Check out the photos for a glimpse of the action!

V8 Club Muscle & Classic Car Show 2010

Prize Winner of Ford EscortIt was just 3years ago that 3 friends Nolan Benjamin, Francis Paul & Clifford Tardieu, started hanging out  at Movie Town POS. Due to the constant attention their Classic Cars got they just kept on going back. The 3 grew into 5 then 14 then 30, and then they became a really good group of friends from different backgrounds with different views. The one thing that brought them together is a mutual respect for all things old school and the way things used to be.

The objective was simple– to engender the love & respect for everything old school, especially cars, and to show the younger generations that these cars were responsible for the ones they admire and idolize today. TTV8CC's motto is "WE and not ALL YUH" And that without these cars and most importantly, their owners who bought them, the car as we know it today would never exist.

In Oct 09 Trinidad & Tobago V8 Car Club or TTV8CC held their 1st mini-show. They cleaned and cooked 700 pieces of chicken, made several bowls of salad, bought several cases of T&T's finest brews & held their first ever BBQ event. They made enough for T-shirts, registration fee and had a little left over to hold our next show. It was the beginning of something good and positive despite all the chaos & trouble of the year 2009. With thousands of flyers, a few phone calls and the generosity and trust of the Bhagwansingh family, the 1st Annual TTV8CC Grand Auto Show was born with no official sponsors. They made very little but had fun anyway! It was felt that people wanted more and they wanted it down south. So to Skinner Park they went for the 2nd Annual Event– this time with a few sponsors and showed what true Old School vibes was all about. With the help of Auto Guru, Sikkens, Dean Wheels and AC Delco, TTV8CC even gave away a classic car, a "pimped-out" Ford Escort as a door prize! We hear that next year it'll be a modified American Muscle Car!

And so the hope is that people see the positives in what TTV8CC has been able to do in 4 short months since their first show. It was not and never will be a "money thing" but rather to encourage those with classics to bring them out of their garages, tombs and hiding places and SHARE them with the present generation.

Alternative Chutney Rock Car Show & Sound Off

Newly repainted Rx8 on massive chrome rimsSkynet HD in collaboration with WinTV and Streetwise Sounds certainly outdid themselves bringing this new car show concept to the Centre of Excellence, Macoya. The event attracted youths and families alike and there was even a bouncy castle for the little ones. In addition to the massive presence of the largest local car crews who brought their usual best rides, Karma, Burn, Daddy Tiny, Hypnotix and veteran Rikki Jai lit up the stage with performances that went well into the night. While we were not able to stay for the full complement stage performances we did manage to capture a comprehensive gawk at the latest in paint technology, audio, wheels and customization tricks in these photos.
