Team Speedway to represent T&T in Panama Grand Prix 2019

Following the launch of their new Renault Sport R.S. 01 and unofficial track record, driver Franklyn Boodram and Team Speedway have set their sights on the Panama Grand Prix 2019, carded for the 7-8 September 2019 at the Circuito Internacional de Panamá. With the assistance of team sponsors, Shell Lubricants/FT Farfan and DHL shipping, Boodram will be competing with the team’s Renault Mégane V6 Trophy racing car at this event to get acquainted with the track and the main contenders. A return trip is in the works for the 2020 racing season with the R.S. 01.

Team Speedway unofficially tops Wallerfield records in Testing

Immediately following their highly successful launch event at Movietowne, Port of Spain, Team Speedway transported their Renault Sport R.S. 01 to Wallerfield for their first official testing session over the period June 10-15. Owner of racing supplier and support team Equipe Verschuur, Frans Verschuur, and lead engineer Joris, were finally able to work with local driver Franklyn Boodram, and the mechanics of Team Speedway to unleash the potential of the R.S. 01 at our local track. The session proved to be extremely fruitful as multiple record breaking laps were completed, albeit unofficially, as they were done during practice. Needless to say, Team Speedway's newly signed sponsors Shell Lubricants/FT Farfan and DHL were extremely happy with both the team's marketing and on-track results thus far.

T&T teenager Deen wins big at Bushy Park Barbados

Trinidad & Tobago teenager Isa Deen stood on each step of the podium at Bushy Park Barbados on Sunday (September 2) to end the day top points-scorer in round three of the Radical Caribbean SR3 Cup (RCC). Deen’s victory in race three followed those of fellow-countryman Kristian Boodoosingh and Mark Maloney of Barbados in the earlier encounters, in which he had already finished second and third. Despite failing to add to his tally of two wins each in the earlier rounds, Maloney’s brother Stuart still leads the regional series ahead of the final round in Guyana in November. Isa’s star shines bright at CMRC inaugural Radical Caribbean Cup races!

It was Day Two of the 2018 edition of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC). The air and grounds were damp and I was just polishing off a hot, tasty piece of fried chicken from Bar-B-Que Boyz at the back of the stands on the pit side of the track. Just then, I heard the announcement of the final Radical Caribbean Cup (RCC) race of the day!
